Welcome to the site called „Petrography of Igneous Rocks ”.

We did our best to create a site where the composition and the arrangement would correspond to the lecture programme of Petrogaphy. This site will be helpful for students of Mining and Geology, Environmental Engineering and Environmental Protection.

“Petrography of Igneous Rocks” contains theoretical and practical sections. The theoretical section contain information about magmatic processes, rock minerals and internal textures of igneous rocks. The practical one shows how to identify the rocks under the microscope and also contains the macroscopic features.

The micro photos were made in the Department of Mineralogy, Petrography and Geochemistry. The scientific coach of this site is Dr Krzysztof Dudek
